The first-year students of the medical college  adjunct to the  Medical Institute after Mehrabyan, headed by the lecturer  Matsakyan G. held an open lesson at the A. L. Mnjoyan Research Institute of Fine Organic Chemistry, in the laboratory of the “synthesis of new drugs”. The students have got acquainted with the equipment and chemical preparations of the laboratory led by S.А. Kazaryan. They saw the process of obtaining sodium hydroxide (NaOH), as well as the process of obtaining  hydrogen chloride gas and hydrochloric acid. Students determined the acid-base medium of aqueous solutions of several compounds using a methyl orange indicator.
